#BlockchainForAll— August Blockchain Events in Chicago

As a documentary filmmaker, sometimes I get this urge to film someone. It’s kind of hard to explain the feeling but I’ve been getting it lately at Blockchain events, so I decided to follow my gut.

People spoke of mining rigs on boats, their anarchist upbringing and peace through blockchain. When you get a group of these Chicago crypto nuts in the same room, it’s sort of magical. I like to think we have the most energized crypto events in the US. Maybe it’s because Chicago has always had a strong community organizing spirit? We are the third largest city in the United States. Are we all overcompensating because we don’t live in San Fran or New York? We do have a lot in common, we either moved here for a job or family. We complain about the weather 6 months of the year, we drive a lot. Whatever the reason, there is always one memorable person in the room that surprises me with their blockchain story. Shout out to LaborCrypto and Hannah Rosenberg for being in the video:

In August, there are two events in Chicago that the community is rallying behind: Voice Of Blockchain by Disruption Joe and the International Blockchain Congress by Givi Chikovani. All the midwest Blockchain OG’s, crypto beginners, futurists and entrepreneurs will be converging here. Sure, there will be the projects, the education and the cash bar. If you come just for that, you won’t be disappointed. But look between the cracks. All the fun happens between the talks in the back room and at the bar after the event. I’ll be there with my camera and my new app, Givbit which I’m making with Alex Morris.

Givbit — Pay Your Friends With Bitcoin

Givbit allows you to spend and receive crypto with ease. You can keep track of where your crypto goes and who has paid you. Pay your friends back in crypto and spend it in stores that accept it. Spread the word through spending it, speed up mass adoption and stabilize the price, right? Isn’t that the idea? Don’t we actually want to use this stuff as opposed to just hodling it for ever? If you want to join the team or help with beta testing, sign up for email updates on the site or shoot me a message.
